birthday week in review....

big week.
birthday on thursday, birthday party on saturday.
i'm pooped if i can be honest. ;)

she had kind of hinted that she wanted an american girl doll....we hadn't really said one way or another.  we gave her the above gifts, new dresses and a journal.  she was so unbelievably graciouis....and didn't even raise an eye that, that was what she was given....then we asked her to close her eyes.

she had been to ceramics her shirt usually isn't that filthy. :)

she really really wanted to go out to dinner...we talked her into a daddy steak dinner.  he wore a suit and tie.  it was so cute.

ice cream sundaes instead of cake.  awesome.
birthday party.  we had it at adam's office in the back room.  it was a perfect place.  no fuss no muss. :)

Mad Scientist Party!

Looking for volunteers.

super great Mad Scientist.

anne was going to have water dumped on her...but there was some sort of a chemical reaction and it didn't happen. too cute.      .
they were so good....watching with bated breath.

making goo to take home.

mee maws famous cupcakes.  green icing for the theme of science anne said. :)

the whole gang.

birthday girl in her glory....
i highly recommend the Mad Science company that we used.  Anne does the program at her school after school hours and is in love with it.  This was one of the best parties I have seen in a while.  Very interactive and exciting.  Well worth it.  If the weather would have been warm, I would have done it in the back yard or on the deck...but February in MO isn't suited for that. :)

a blast...

this weekend anne participated in a cheer/pom clinic.  it was darling.
similar to the one she participated in this summer.
the girls preformed this evening at the jv basketball game at the highschool.
it was so cute, i got teary.  anne put her all into it.  110%....it was so stinkin' cute i couldn't stand it.  a mom and i sat front and center on the bleachers.  adam was with us.  anne was so proud.
a side note-anyone that is reading this that went to highschool with me....do you know that it smells EXACTLY the same there, and it doesn't seem nearly as big.  so strange to me.

FINALLY!

the snow finally came...
the girls, for christmas, got snow suits, boots, and sleds.
and we really haven't had one lousy snow to use any one of those things.
i heard it was 'supposed' to snow over night and up to 3 inches in some areas.
i didn't buy it. not for a second.
i stayed up late reading and looked out right before going to bed...
IT WAS SNOWING and it was going to be a decent one!
WHOOP WHOOP!
this morning the girls got up and said MOMMY IT SNOWED!
they played nicely all early morning, not making one mention of going out.
i was going to maybe not mention it either...
but i didn't think that was nice.
i got them all bundled up.  kate says kind of quietly, 'what happens if you have to go potty?'
WHO has to go potty?  little kate's hand went up...i do.
ha.  no big deal, we just stripped off 3 layers, went potty, and put them all back on.
gotta love that kid.

p.s....sleds stayed in the garage...adam is out of town and i am NOT brave enough to conquer that without him...he is the parent that stands at the bottom to catch them...and i'm not very good at steering a sled...so i was thinking we better just leave those there. HA! :)

ears.

I picked the girls up from school today.  It was a cold, but sunny day, kind of made it feel like we were on the down hill slide of winter...even though my car thermometer said 9 degrees this morning...
anyway, Anne has been talking about the ear piering (ha) for a while now.

Adam and I talked about surprising her with ear piercing prior to her birthday.  So I did!
She was so excited.  But I could tell a little apprehnsive.  I asked twice, 'are you sure' and she answered twince 'yep!'....and she doesn't usually spoof...so we went.

making just the right choice...didn't take long.  #34 rainbow daisy...

finding just the right spot.

and the other ear...

these two gals hid the 'gun' that they used behind their back, they came around either side of me.  looked like charlie's angels, and counted down from 5....that's when i got really hot and a little sweaty.

ew. i think that may have hurt. ;)

big eyes.

love this. so excited.

oh my gosh...can you feel her pride?!

i loved that she had approximately 25 minutes to wonder/worry/think about it.
she was so proud and now so excited that she has them.
i heard her about 345 times tonight whisper...i just can't believe it.  i just can't believe it.  i feel so grown up.
love it. just love it.
~chat soon!
