pumpkin princesses....

 

if you know me.  you know halloween is NOT my thing.

adam had to take care of some business at the business tonight....i knew if we started chanting..."carve pumpkins carve pumpkins carve pumpkins" right when he walked in, it wouldn't be the best idea.  i took it upon myself to carve the pumpkins.  i'm not the greatest at knife safety...BUT all 4 pumpkins turned out decent and MOMMA HAS ALL HER FINGERS.
I say that...is awesome!


p.s. pictures are STINKY but it was 6:30p.m....on the deck.  dusk was here...it was what I could do. :)
 

Big Day....

Today Kate and Paw Paw Bob have a birthday.
 

not much cuter...

kate turn 6. this week to be exact.  last weekend we had her 'school party'.  i'm not overly adventurous when it comes to kids party's so i planned the same party for kate as i did for anne when she was in kindergarten.  it is an absolute no brainer. everyone gathers for 60 minutes.  the kids are completely engaged.  they give you a cart to push the loot out to your car in...it's really a great deal. 
kate was so cute.  anne was an excellent big sister, and all of the kindergarten friends were on their best behavior.  it was darling!

pumpkin patch

last week was the infamous kindergarten trip to the pumpkin patch.
kate really, really wanted us to go.
I was not excited because I have very, very, vivid memories of anne's pumpkin patch field trip. (read...here!)
I decided to go.  It was fun.  Slightly stressful.  But fun.
Kindergarteners are such crack ups and independent little things it is so much fun just to watch.
I don't know a lot of the momma's yet, so it was kind of nice to visit a little or just quietly hang around. 

a visit

susan and crew came home last week.  we had so much fun just hanging out.   the kids are just head over heels for each other.  they pick up right where they left off.
can't wait for the next visit!
