too cute not to share...*updated links!!!!!!*

You know those people that have the ability to always give the most well thought out, adorable, meaningful gift?
That's NOT me.
I struggle sometimes, often its because I didn't give myself enough time to organize my thoughts and get it done.
Devon's baptism was approaching.  That is a tricky gift giving occasion, I think.
I had been poking around pintrest, and found two 'pins' about the wooden block at cupcake keepsakes.  so i crawled over to etsy and determined i was getting the block and wanted to maybe add a little something else.  VIOLA!  I found polkadot boutique.
I wanted to share, because a) the gifts were amazing, affordable, and absolutly adorable and b) the ladies were increidably accomodating and easy to communicate with.
Check out their stuff.  It's two great places to bookmark or 'pin' for later.
i thought this was the sweetest, personalized memento...

sweet january even let me change the verse on the block to fit devon's baptism!

this is called  'a girl and her faith'...how could i pass that up?  my picture does not do it justice, but i think my own girlies may need one of these for a gift SOON! ;)

Baptism...

For those who believe and are baptized shall be saved...Mark 16:16
Our sweet niece was baptized yesterday.
I just love baptisms.
Again, I proved that I'm turning into my mother....
The pastor put the water on her head, and my eyes filled with tears.
I'm a mush.  Really.
Our pastor does awesome baptisms.  I think.
Always touching.
Our girls got to be invovled with part of it.  They were soooo impressed.
Anne said as I put her to bed, 'do you think we did the most important job?'
Close, I said, close! :)

admissions.

so here it is.
some confessions...
*i hate homework.
*i wish i were back on my little 'second honeymoon' trip with the hubs.
*i do love being a momma.
*kate has been asleep for the past 3 hours.  she says she has a tummy ache.  i am praying all tummy contents stay in the belly.
* adam and i are 'house hunting'.  it is a bad time to be trying to do something like that.  but we are.  who knows where that may take us. (or not take us)
*sometimes i'm a cranky parent (that is a teacher) when it comes to teacher/parent relationships. and that can be weird.
*girlscout cookies are in, so if you ordered....we will be calling you.
*i'm so happy february is over.  (although i do love anne's birthday, our anniversary, and adam's birthday, all other days, not necessary)
*march is here. but that also means storms are here. i hate storms.
*only two and half months of school.  whoop whoop!
*adam signed up to be anne's softball coach....(you can stop giggling...it will be great!)
* i wish my sissy lived in missouri, illinois, kentucky, tennessee, or ohio, or even indiana or kansas.   i miss her.
* i love being a 2nd grade teacher.
* sometimes i wish i could retire.
*i don't like laundry, and that is what i am avoiding, by writing this.

so there you have it.  everything i have thought about in the last 5 minutes or so.
simply put.

anne's party....

this is waaaaay overdue.
we have just had some things going on....and i kind of forgot that i hadn't posted it.
this had to be one of my favorite parties so far.
we had it a candy shoppe. i went into the whole thing complelty blind. i had never even been to the place.
i booked it. made some choices of what we wanted to do. held my breath, croosed my fingers (and toes), said a prayer, and went.
it was perfect.
the theme was a tea party.
they played games, drank real tea, then drank sugar water 'tea', went to 'buy' candy from the shoppe from their winnings from their games, and then had their cake.
the cutest thing...each girl got a 'cake ball' with a candle.
the host told the girls that they were to each make a wish for anne when they blew out the candle.
the party was over, we were heading home. i looked into the review mirror and anne was in deep thought.
i asked if she was okay....
anne says, yes, i am just wondering what all THEIR WISHES WERE!
too stinkin' cute.

he liked it.

on the deck outside our cottage

almost, and i mean, ALMOST lost the top layer of my face by running from the tripod to the 'spot'.  whew!

well, we just got back from our little 2nd honeymoon, stay-cation trip.
adam planned a trip for us to go to our favorite weekend spot. hermann, mo.
loved it. again. the cottage we stayed at were amazing. i'm not real seasoned in fancy accommodations, but i would say this is the nicest place we have stayed inside the 50 states.
wowsers.
plus, it was totally private. no having to eat breakfast with folks and do that weird friendly smile, but don't make it too friendly, because i really don't want to talk kind of smile...
perfect.
i learned something interesting. sunset photos are NOT as easy as they appear. you get the drift. but it wasn't the perfect 10 year picture i was thinking of.
back to reality this week.
no birthdays, no anniversaries, just being a momma.
that's good too.
