11.

today,  adam and i have been married 11 years.
really hard to believe.
it feels like all i know is being a wife, but then again, it feels like just yesterday i looked at my dad and said, welp, let's go...as the nice lady opened the church doors.

we always say...we couldn't have gotten this far without the other.  and man, is that the truth.
i could go on for paragraphs...but if you know me, and you know us.  you know we're ment to be together.
here are some pictures to bring back some memories...
i just looked at my hands...wow! have they aged.

2nd favorite photo from our wedding.

I love this song...it's maybe, a touch 'dark'  but the whole idea that the marriage is till the end, i LOVE.  i always tell my mom 'don't worry, we're stuck....like cement'  forever, and EVER! :)

and finally it snowed!

so the snow, and ice, finally came.
all day yesterday.  it was really pretty.
everyone was homebound (or should have been)
today, the girls asked at least 1,000 times to go outside.
i finally said, 'oh what the heck!'
and out we went...with the sleds this time.
we couldn't help it, the snow was perfect with just enough icy glaze on top to make it well worth the slide. :)
i jumped on a sled too....man, i forget how fun that is.
the girls and i had a blast...

this was fun, i'll admit, but i would welcome spring any day now! :)

what's cooking....

I have been trying REALLY hard to attempt new recipes.
We are slightly limited because our oven is on the fritz...actually now, it's totally dead....so I have had to get a little more creative with my searching...

Dijon pork chops
Cheesy Baked Spaghetti Squash Boats
Chicken Cordon bleu
Salsbury Steak
Drip Beef
Pork Chops with apples and grits....
General Tso's Chicken
Beef Brisket
Gyro's
Potato Soup
this one has no 'recipe....
Chicken Breasts (I used tenders) in the crockpot (frozen even!) with a jar of salsa...cooked ALL DAY on low.  Shred the dickens out of them...add a bag of frozen corn and dump a can of black beans (drained) serve on tortillas with avocados, cheese, and sour cream.  OHMYGOSH...it was devilishly simple, and a decent, wholesome, one pot meal.  Next time, I would probably add a packet of taco seasoning...especially for the adult tastebuds. :)

i want to try this ASAP:
Salad Taco's

yummers...i could cook all day.  and to think i couldn't even cook rice when we first got married. ;)  no lie.

calm before the storm...

forcast is calling for a "MAJOR WINTER STORM" including ice, snow, sleet, freezing rain....
ran around like the other wierdo's after work today....even laughed at myself a little.
bought a bottle of wine.  (we are out)
a loaf of bread.
a 12 pack of diet coke.
and a 50 lb bag of rock salt.
yepp...that should just about do it, huh?
yikes.  i'm as crazy as the others...
oh, and i filled my tank up with gas.
that's when i looked over my shoulder and saw the beautiful sunset.
the photo doesn't do it justice....but it made me remember that SPRING is right around the corner....
hopefully.

a mystery....

last monday.  kate came home from school.  she had lost her bottom tooth.
it was her second, and we knew it was loose. BUT, the mystery is...
she didn't know she lost it and she didn't know where it went.

adam called me at work to tell me that she had several different ideas to her story...
i sent her teacher a text messsage  who promptly responded 'call when you can'.
so i got my students snuggly on their buses and called beth.

mrs. k said that she had not a clue when kate lost the tooth or where it went because they just 'noticed' it was gone.  the teachers each noticed at different times and kate just innocently said 'it happened awhile ago'...we all know to a preschool that could mean last week, last night, or 4 minutes ago.

we all got a huge kick out of it and proceeded to write the toothfairy a note. :)

birthday week in review....

big week.
birthday on thursday, birthday party on saturday.
i'm pooped if i can be honest. ;)

she had kind of hinted that she wanted an american girl doll....we hadn't really said one way or another.  we gave her the above gifts, new dresses and a journal.  she was so unbelievably graciouis....and didn't even raise an eye that, that was what she was given....then we asked her to close her eyes.

she had been to ceramics her shirt usually isn't that filthy. :)

she really really wanted to go out to dinner...we talked her into a daddy steak dinner.  he wore a suit and tie.  it was so cute.

ice cream sundaes instead of cake.  awesome.
birthday party.  we had it at adam's office in the back room.  it was a perfect place.  no fuss no muss. :)

Mad Scientist Party!

Looking for volunteers.

super great Mad Scientist.

anne was going to have water dumped on her...but there was some sort of a chemical reaction and it didn't happen. too cute.      .
they were so good....watching with bated breath.

making goo to take home.

mee maws famous cupcakes.  green icing for the theme of science anne said. :)

the whole gang.

birthday girl in her glory....
i highly recommend the Mad Science company that we used.  Anne does the program at her school after school hours and is in love with it.  This was one of the best parties I have seen in a while.  Very interactive and exciting.  Well worth it.  If the weather would have been warm, I would have done it in the back yard or on the deck...but February in MO isn't suited for that. :)
