the scoop-part 2

we left gatlinburg, tn. heading toward south carolina. we drove through the mountains again, but this time on a highway, so it wasn't AS crazy. the drive was amazing. if you get the chance, go....something that is totally worth seeing.
there was nothing exciting or dramatic that happened on the way to the beach. thank goodness. we were nearly tapped out. i was seriously on the verge of turning the bus around and forgetting the ENTIRE trip.
we finally arrived in the town of beufort, sc.
my stress level lowered.
i could deal with this.
i have been deemed the vacation planner/nazi. while it is a wonderful title, the few minutes prior to seeing the place that 9 people are counting on, can be, well, a little nauseating. ..

we arrived first at the house.

adam gave me a thumbs up and we were set.

officially on vacation...

our days were spent in the sun, at the beach, napping, or at the pool.
one day adam and i ventured into the town of Beaufort, which is absolutely adorable. totally me. we loved it. and seriously conversed about setting goals to retire in an area like that. (no mom, we wouldn't leave you behind.)

it was very low key. most of the homes on the island were not rental homes, used on weekends by residents, so the clientele was a little different then your typical vacation home compound.

it was a vacation at its best.

although, its recovery period is proving to be a little longer then expected.

adam wore dress shoes yesterday for work, he took them off 1/2 way through and said, my feet haven't been in anything but flip flops for two weeks...i'm telling you we need vacation rehab. :)

ha.

the typical view on the beach...

dowtown beufort, sc
waterfront park. we had lunch. they had SWINGS on the waters edge...
just pretty...
spanish moss dripping from every tree in sight...i'm smitten!

daily visit of the shrimp boats. usually flocked with seagulls (which make me screech) and DOLPHINS!
